Because it correctly and accurately identifies the true social character of conflicts, the Gülen Movement avoids producing unpredictable forms or expressions of collective action. Movement participants are socially, culturally, and intellectually competent, so they can respond to the specificity of individual and collective demands. In this way they do not allow demands to cancel one another out. They do not try to escape into a reductionism that ignores or annuls the individual for the appropriated identity of the Gülen Movement. Utilizing this social capacity, the Gülen Movement does not lapse into less social or less cooperative types of behavior, or withdraw into a sect or dissolve into a utopian myth.
